State and federal regulations have a big impact on New Hampshire hospitals, health systems and their patients.

NHHA tracks rulemaking activity throughout the state and works closely with regulatory agencies, as well as other groups, to advocate for a reasonable and sustainable regulatory environment.

In addition, NHHA works with the American Hospital Association (AHA) on federal rulemaking that would negatively or positively impact New Hampshire hospitals and the communities they serve. With guidance from the AHA, NHHA regularly submits comments to a number of federal agencies, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), on the implications of federal policies under consideration and how it would impact the health care delivery system in New Hampshire.
