EXETER — Officials from Exeter Hospital and the state Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) are holding a press conference Thursday afternoon concerning a joint investigation related to four people with hepatitis, all sharing an identical strain.

A press release announcing the briefing, to be held at 2 p.m. at Exeter Hospital, did not give any details about the four recently diagnosed cases or say if they involved employees, patients or both.

Testing by the Division of Public Health Services confirmed the four cases share an identical strain, according to the press release. Additional information, facts and updates will be addressed during the press conference.

Jose Montero, M.D., New Hampshire Public Health director, will be joined at the event by Richard Hollister, M.D., chair of the hospital's Department of Medicine, Kevin Callahan, president and CEO of Exeter Health Resources, and Mark Whitney, vice president of Community Relations and Development for Exeter Health Resources.
