The American Academy of Professional Coders is a professional network of CPT,
ICD-9-CM and HCPCS coders. The organization awards CPC and CPC-H credentials to those
coders who successfully pass its accreditation examinations. This site provides more

American Association for Medical Transcription
The American Association for Medical Transcription is the national organization
for medical transcription professionals. This site provides information about the
organization and about obtaining credentialling and certification.
American Health Information Management
Association
As experts in clinical data and information management, the 38,000 professional
members of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) are vital to the
healthcare industry. The unique knowledge and skills that AHIMA members possess are
critical for classifying and analyzing health information, transitioning from paper to

Joint Healthcare Information Technology
Alliance (JHITA)
AHIMA, CHIM, AMIA, CHIME and HIMSS have joined together to form the Joint Healthcare
Information Technology Alliance (JHITA). Two areas of focus for the Alliance are to
advocate for legislation and regulation of the effective use of technology and its
management; and to be a dynamic industry force by developing jointly sponsored educational
programs, market focus groups, research, services and activities relating to information

National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA)
The National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) is a non-profit, professional
organization whose purposes are to establish standards of education for cancer registrars;
to inform its members of the latest methods of cancer diagnosis, treatment and current
trends in incidence and survival, and to make cancer patient data readily available for
clinical and epidemiological research.
