The New Hampshire Health Information Management Association offers one
or more $500 scholarships annually to qualified applicants enrolled in:
• A program of health information management (HIM) or technology (HIT)
accredited by
the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
Or
• A coding specialist, medical transcription or tumor registry program
taught by a
credentialed practitioner or affiliated with a regionally accredited
college or university.
Or
• A college or university accredited by a nationally recognized
accrediting agency and
pursuing, at a minimum, a master’s degree in a program related to HIM.
Qualifications:
1. Applicant must be a resident of New Hampshire or employed in New
Hampshire in an
HIM related field.
2. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 (out of 4.0) or 3.5 (out
of 5.0) or higher.
3. Graduate applicants must be a credentialed HIM professional (RHIA,
RHIT, CCS) and
an active member of NHHIMA.

1. The application deadline is March 1, 2007.
2. With the completed application, the student must provide:
• A transcript of the applicant’s academic record in the HIM program
• A letter from the program director that the applicant is a student in
good standing
• Two letters of recommendation, preferably from an educator or
supervisor
• Proof of NH residency or employment
