Hospital Coding Manager
Coding Operations
With direction from the Director of Coding Operations, the Coding Manager
will ensure that diagnoses and procedures have been collected, coded and
accurately
reflected utilizing DHMC coding/compliance regulations, governmental
regulations and National Coding Clinic guidelines. This position involves
developing and implementing appropriate compliance policies and procedures
for evaluating input, coding and sequencing, and providing accurate data to
support DRG and APC coding. Other responsibilities include maintaining the
flow of coding visits to meet billed revenue targets; developing
departmental
objectives; supervising coding and clinical documentation specialist staff;
improving coding/documentation practices to optimize revenue captured for
health systems, maintaining staffing levels and budget; developing
compliance
policies; monitoring potential risk exposure related to coding practices;
responding to non-compliance issues; and participating in reviews with
external
coding auditing companies. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in
Allied
Health, Health Care Administration or related field, CCS certification and 5
years of progressively responsible experience in medical coding or clinical
health
care or equivalent. Must have leadership experience and a working knowledge
of hospital coding, APC and DRG application, anatomy and
physiology, medical terminology, Coding Clinic guidelines
and Medicare regulations.

Coding Specialist III—Remote
Coding Operations
At the direction of the Hospital Coding Manager, review medical records
of discharged patients to ensure that diagnoses and procedures have been
recorded. As part of the DRG team, collect, code, and compile medical record
data for future retrieval, reports, and reimbursement purposes.
Must pass a Coding Level III exam and meet eligibility requirements for
home/remote coding.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High school graduate with a minimum of 5
years of coding experience required. Previous DRG Coding preferred. Strong
organizational and analytical skills with the ability to effectively
communicate, both orally and in writing with all levels of staff CPC-H, CCS,
RHIA or RHIT certification required.

Electronic Medical Records Manager
Under the general direction of the Director of Records Management/Health
Information
Services, you will oversee the creation, storage, retrieval and retention of
medical records in multiple
formats to assure optimal clinician access for treating patients,
documenting patient care, performing
research and teaching, as well as to ensure proper legal and accreditation
requirements.
Position involves facilitating the transition to a total electronic health
record, assisting in technical
implementation, building relevant clinical content into workflows,
addressing integration and
troubleshooting issues, providing training and facilitating policy and
process development.
Candidates for this role should have a Bachelor’s degree in Health
Information Management with
at least 3 years’ related management experience. Registered Health
Information Administrator
(RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) required, as is
experience working
with and developing information systems programs. Must have strong project
management, organizational and communication skills as well as the ability
to collaborate with all levels of staff.

Located in the scenic western mountains of Maine, FCHN is a locally
controlled, nonprofit, integrated network of rural health-care providers,

Status: Per Diem Shift: First Shift (Day) but can be flexible.
Variable Schedule as Needed Per Diem position will fill in for vacations,
illness, etc on an as needed basis. Responsibilities include assigning
diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient and same day surgery charts;
clerical duties; and other duties as assigned.
Experience coding Inpatient and/or Same Day Surgery charts necessary. CCS
