Grassroots Advocacy

Lawmakers in Concord and Washington, D.C., are making decisions which affect hospitals, patients and communities across New Hampshire. How will legislators know the impact of their decisions on  health care in our state if you don't tell them? New Hampshire's hospitals and their supporters can positively influence the legislative process on issues they care about, and they can speak with one voice.

NHHA has developed a comprehensive set a materials anyone can use to communicate messages on behalf of hospitals.  First on our list of priorities for 2009 is the state budget, HB 1. The N.H. House has passed its version of the bill for state fiscal years 2010 and 2011. It calls on our hospitals to contribute to balancing the state's budget through significant Medicaid reimbursement cuts, above and beyond what hospitals have already suffered since November 2008.

In the links below, you’ll find everything you need to communicate with state Senators to urge them to oppose HB 1. Tell them they should use federal stimulus Medicaid funds to restore cuts that have already been made.
