Our keynote speaker this year will be Gary S. Kaplan, MD, FACP, FACMPE, FACPE.  Dr. Kaplan has served as Chairman and CEO of the Virginia Mason Health System since 2000. Dr. Kaplan received his medical degree from the University of Michigan and is board-certified in internal medicine.

Since Dr. Kaplan became Chairman and CEO, Virginia Mason has received significant national and international recognition, including HealthGrades' "Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence" for three consecutive years. Recently, for the fifth consecutive year, Virginia Mason was one of 65 hospitals in the country named a Top Hospital in the nation by The Leapfrog Group. In addition, Virginia Mason was named a Leapfrog Top Hospital of the Decade for patient safety and quality. Only two hospitals in the country received this honor.
