N.H. Prevention Guidelines

A product of our unique partnership is the Foundations N.H. Prevention Guidelines. They offer consumers and physicians clear-cut advice about the timing of physicals, diagnostic screenings and immunizations. Medical directors from the states four health plans developed the guidelines which are updated every two years and have been approved by the National Committee on Quality Assurance. NH Prevention Guidelines posters are on display in hospitals, clinics and physicians offices. New Hampshire is the first in the nation where health plans and providers have agreed to uniform statewide prevention guidelines.

"The NH Prevention Guidelines are a win-win for physicians, hospitals and patients," says Alan Freeman, MD, Medical Director, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. "For providers, this simplifies practice management by being a singular practice guideline adopted by all our managed care organizations. For our patients, it focuses our collective efforts toward making prevention work rather than providing multiple, inconsistent guidelines."
